Description
There are growing fears of a U.S.–Venezuela clash after Venezuelan fighter jets buzzed a U.S. Navy destroyer for the second time in two days. The incident follows a U.S. strike on a boat the White House says was run by the Tren de Aragua cartel, recently labeled a terrorist group. In response, Venezuela sent two F-16s past a U.S. warship, prompting the U.S. to deploy 10 F-35s to Puerto Rico — the largest military buildup in the Caribbean since the Cuban Missile Crisis. President Trump warned that any future Venezuelan flyovers of U.S. vessels will not be tolerated. Retired Brig. Gen. Peter Zwack and retired Air Force commander Glenn Ignazio join NewsNation to break down the stakes.
